Effective date: July 1, 2026
This Shipping Policy explains how Dog DNA Test Canada processes orders, ships testing kits, receives returned samples, and coordinates delivery to the laboratory.
Shipping and laboratory testing are separate stages. Laboratory turnaround time begins only after a sample arrives at the laboratory, completes intake, and is accepted for processing.
By ordering through dogdnatest.ca, you agree to the terms described below.
1. Order processing
Orders may be reviewed before shipment to confirm:
- Payment approval
- Product availability
- Delivery-address accuracy
- Kit and testing requirements
- Customer contact information
- Consent or documentation requirements
- Delivery eligibility
Orders are generally processed during regular business days.
Processing may take longer during weekends, statutory holidays, high order volumes, product shortages, severe weather, or other circumstances outside our reasonable control.
An order confirmation does not necessarily mean the testing kit has already been transferred to the shipping carrier.
2. Canadian shipping destinations
Eligible testing kits may be shipped to supported addresses across Canada.
Available delivery methods may depend on:
- Province or territory
- Postal code
- Rural or remote location
- Product type
- Package size
- Carrier availability
- Laboratory requirements
- Special handling needs
Some products may not be available in every province, territory, or delivery region.
If the selected shipping service is unavailable, we may contact the customer to arrange another option or cancel the affected item.
3. Estimated delivery times
Delivery dates displayed during checkout, included in order messages, or shown through carrier tracking are estimates rather than guarantees.
Actual delivery time may be affected by:
- Carrier network delays
- Weather conditions
- Statutory holidays
- Seasonal shipping volumes
- Labour disruptions
- Transportation interruptions
- Rural or remote delivery schedules
- Incorrect or incomplete addresses
- Government restrictions
- Other events outside our reasonable control
Shipping delays are outside laboratory turnaround time.
The time required to deliver the kit to the customer and return the collected sample to the laboratory is not included in the laboratory processing estimate.
4. Shipping charges
Applicable shipping costs are generally displayed during checkout or communicated before the order is completed.
Charges may vary according to:
- Delivery destination
- Selected service level
- Package size and weight
- Product type
- Carrier rates
- Return-shipping requirements
- Rural or remote-area surcharges
- Special handling instructions
Customers may be responsible for additional shipping costs resulting from an incorrect address, refused delivery, failed delivery attempt, or uncollected parcel.
5. Tracking information
Tracking details may be provided when available for the selected shipping method.
A tracking number may be generated before the carrier physically receives or scans the package.
Carrier tracking may not display every movement, sorting event, or processing stage.
Customers should contact us when tracking indicates:
- A significant delay
- Delivery to the wrong address
- An unsuccessful delivery
- A damaged package
- A parcel marked as delivered that cannot be located
A carrier investigation may be required before a replacement or other resolution can be approved.
6. Address accuracy
Customers are responsible for providing a complete and accurate shipping address.
The address should include:
- Recipient name
- Street address
- Unit or apartment number, where applicable
- City
- Province or territory
- Postal code
- Current telephone number
Contact Dog DNA Test Canada immediately if an address correction is required.
We may not be able to update the address after fulfilment begins or after the package has been transferred to the carrier.
Dog DNA Test Canada is not responsible for delays, losses, or added charges resulting from incorrect or incomplete information supplied by the customer.
7. Undeliverable or returned parcels
A parcel may be returned when:
- The address is incorrect or incomplete
- The recipient has moved
- Delivery is refused
- The package is not collected
- The carrier cannot access the delivery location
- Required delivery information is missing
When a package is returned, the customer may be responsible for:
- Reshipping charges
- Carrier return fees
- Replacement costs
- Administrative expenses
Original shipping charges may not be refundable.
8. Lost, damaged, or incomplete kits
Inspect the parcel shortly after delivery.
Contact us promptly when:
- The outer package is seriously damaged
- Collection materials are broken or leaking
- A required component is missing
- The wrong testing kit was delivered
- The package appears to have been opened
- The materials cannot be used safely
Keep the original packaging and provide photographs where available.
After reviewing the issue, we may:
- Replace an affected component
- Send another testing kit
- Contact the carrier
- Request additional information
- Provide another reasonable resolution
Do not use damaged, contaminated, expired, or incorrect collection materials unless our support team confirms they are suitable.
9. Receiving and storing the kit
After delivery, customers should:
- Read all instructions before opening collection materials
- Confirm that every listed component is present
- Complete any required kit registration
- Review consent-form requirements
- Store the kit according to the supplied directions
- Protect collection materials from contamination
- Check any expiry or use-by information
Improper storage or handling may affect sample quality and could require another collection.
10. Collecting a dog DNA sample
Customers must follow the collection instructions supplied with their testing kit.
Before collecting a sample:
- Review the complete procedure
- Prepare a clean collection area
- Avoid touching the collection surface
- Keep samples from different dogs separate
- Confirm the correct dog and order information
- Complete all required labels and forms
- Follow any food, water, or timing restrictions
Incorrect collection may result in contamination, insufficient DNA, delay, rejection, or sample failure.
11. Returning the sample
Clients must follow the return instructions included with their specific kit.
Return procedures may differ between products. Instructions supplied with one testing service should not be used for another.
Before returning a sample:
- Confirm that collection is complete
- Complete all required consent or submission forms
- Match the sample identifier to the correct order
- Seal the sample as instructed
- Use the required return container
- Attach the correct label
- Keep available tracking or mailing records
- Return the sample within any stated timeframe
Using incorrect packaging, an unauthorized carrier, or an unsuitable return method may result in delay, damage, rejection, or sample failure.
12. Return postage
Return postage may be included with certain products and excluded from others.
Customers should review:
- The product page
- Checkout details
- Order-confirmation messages
- Instructions included inside the kit
When return postage is not included, the customer is responsible for arranging and paying for an appropriate return-shipping service.
A trackable method is recommended where available.
13. Consent forms and supporting documents
Some tests require completed consent forms, submission forms, identity details, or other supporting documentation.
The laboratory may place a sample on hold when:
- A required form is missing
- Information is incomplete
- A signature is absent
- A document is unreadable
- Sample and order details do not match
- Required authorization has not been provided
Time spent obtaining or correcting documentation is outside the laboratory turnaround estimate.
Customers are responsible for completing all required forms accurately.
14. Prenatal sample-return requirements
Prenatal testing kits may require specific timing, handling, packaging, documentation, and courier arrangements.
When a prenatal testing service is offered or ordered, customers must follow the return instructions included inside the prenatal kit.
Do not use:
- General website return instructions
- Directions from another testing kit
- Standard sample packaging
- An unapproved carrier or shipping method
Failure to follow the prenatal-kit requirements may result in delay, rejection, sample deterioration, additional costs, or the need for another collection.
Contact customer support before returning a prenatal sample if any part of the process is unclear.
15. Laboratory delivery and intake
A carrierβs delivery scan does not necessarily mean laboratory testing has started.
After delivery, the laboratory may need to:
- Receive and sort the package
- Match the sample with the order
- Review consent documents
- Inspect sample condition
- Confirm collection requirements
- Register the sample
- Determine whether it is suitable for analysis
Laboratory turnaround time starts after the sample has arrived and has been accepted for processing.
The following periods are outside laboratory turnaround time:
- Initial kit delivery
- Customer collection time
- Return shipping
- Carrier delays
- Laboratory receiving and intake
- Missing-document review
- Replacement-sample collection
- Re-testing
16. Failed samples and re-testing
Some samples may fail laboratory quality checks or contain insufficient usable DNA.
Possible causes include:
- Improper collection
- Insufficient sample material
- Contamination
- Incorrect sample type
- Leakage
- Moisture damage
- Incorrect packaging
- Damage during transit
- Delayed return
- Failure to follow the instructions
When another collection is available, Dog DNA Test Canada or the laboratory may contact the customer with further directions.
Additional collection, kit, shipping, laboratory, or administrative charges may apply.
Re-testing will extend the original estimated completion date.
17. Delivery of results
Results are sent through the reseller process and are not delivered by the shipping carrier.
Depending on the service, reports may be provided through:
- Email notification
- Secure online access
- Communication from Dog DNA Test Canada
- Another method described with the product
Customers are responsible for providing accurate contact information and checking spam, promotions, filtered, and junk-email folders.
18. Delays outside our control
Dog DNA Test Canada cannot guarantee carrier delivery dates.
We are not responsible for delays caused by:
- Severe weather
- Carrier service interruptions
- Labour disputes
- Transportation failures
- Regional emergencies
- Government restrictions
- Incorrect customer information
- Other events outside our reasonable control
We will provide reasonable assistance when possible, but carrier delays do not change the point at which laboratory turnaround time begins.
